Managing Paralegal

Drew serves as Managing Paralegal at Pope Flynn and is an integral member of the firm’s public finance team. With 29 years of experience in public finance, he supports attorneys in drafting authorizing documents and transaction agreements, preparing and proofreading closing documents, and assembling post-closing binders. Since 1996, Drew has worked with law firms across Connecticut, Georgia, Virginia, and South Carolina, bringing depth of experience and attention to detail to every stage of the financing process.

Drew began his military service in 1991 as an active-duty sailor in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Alexandria (SSN-757), a nuclear-powered fast-attack submarine. During his service, he qualified as a helmsman/planesman, lookout, and basic sonar operator, and also served as Yeoman to the Executive Officer. After graduating from college in 1999, he continued his service in the U.S. Navy Reserves, supporting intelligence units including the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island; the Navy Marine Intelligence Training Command in Dam Neck, Virginia; and Naval Air Station Atlanta, Georgia. He was later selected for a direct commission as an Intelligence Officer.

Following a brief break in service, Drew enlisted in the personnel career field in 2011 with the South Carolina Air National Guard at McEntire Joint National Guard Base. In 2019, he was competitively selected to serve as First Sergeant for the 245th Air Traffic Control Squadron and promoted to Master Sergeant (E-7). He currently serves as First Sergeant for the 169th Fighter Wing, holding the rank of Senior Master Sergeant (E-8).

Originally from Dallas, Oregon, Drew is a paralegal member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers and a lifetime member of the National Guard Association of the United States. He previously earned certification as an EMT-B with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians and worked in the emergency room and cardio-thoracic unit of a Hartford, Connecticut hospital.

Drew and his wife, Amy, live in Aiken, South Carolina, with their two daughters, Bella and Sophie. Outside of work and military service, he enjoys running, reading, and serving alongside his family in various ministry activities.
