Background
Drew is a managing paralegal at Pope Flynn and, with 22 years of experience in public finance, is an integral part of our public finance team. He assists the attorneys in drafting authorizing documents and agreements, prepares closing documentation, proofs documents, and prepares closing binders post-closing. Since 1996, he has worked in various law firms in Connecticut, Georgia, Virginia, and South Carolina.
After graduation from high school in 1991, Drew was on active duty in the US Navy aboard the USS ALEXANDRIA (SSN 757), a nuclear powered fast attack submarine as helmsman/planesman, lookout, and basic sonar operator, and served the Executive Officer as a Yeoman. After graduation from college in 1999, he served in the US Navy Reserves in various administrative capacities for Intelligence units, including the Naval War College, Newport, Rhode Island, the Navy Marine Intelligence Training Command, Dam Neck, Virginia, and Naval Air Station, Atlanta, Georgia, and then was selected for a direct commission as an Intelligence Officer. After a break in service, Drew enlisted in the Personnel career field in 2011 as a “Swampfox” in the South Carolina Air National Guard serving at McEntire Joint National Guard Base. In 2019, he was selected in a competitive boarding process as a First Sergeant for the 245th Air Traffic Control Squadron and put on the rank of Master Sergeant (E-7).
Drew grew up in Dallas, Oregon. He is a paralegal member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers (NABL) and a lifetime member of the National Guard Association of the United States. Drew previously certified as an EMT-B with the National Registry and worked in the ER and Cardio-Thoracic unit at a hospital in Hartford, CT. He is very active with Christian Life Church and also volunteers as a teacher/mentor with the Velocity Youth Group in Chapin, SC.
