Lawrence Flynn, Municipal Finance Attorney at Pope Flynn, Selected For Leadership Columbia

Lawrence Flynn, an attorney with Pope Flynn LLC has been selected for the 2011-2012 class of Leadership Columbia. The 60-person class will spend 10 months together exploring issues and challenges facing Columbia, including economic development, education, crime, political systems, and leadership skills. Founded in 1973, Leadership Columbia was designed to enhance knowledge and engagement in the community while also helping develop leadership skills.

“I’m excited about what I’m going to learn and the people I’ll get to meet,” said Flynn. “Pope Flynn’s work in public finance affords us the rare privilege of becoming deeply involved with cities, counties, and special purpose districts all over our state. I look forward to learning more about the inner workings of the city of Columbia and bringing my own unique perspective on municipal law to our class.”

Flynn also serves as a Council Member in the Government Law Section of the South Carolina Bar, and is a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers. He graduated from Duke University with a BA and from the USC School of Law with a JD.
